Meet Pali & Marcelo
Founders & Creative Directors
Hello, and thank you for stopping by our page — we’re so glad you’re here!
We’re Pali and Marcelo Delgado, passionate Argentine tango dancers, artists, and teachers based in Sydney, Australia. Hailing from opposite sides of the world — Thailand and Argentina — our paths crossed by chance in Sydney over a decade ago, igniting a shared journey of life, love, and lots of tango.
Tangueros at heart, we’ve been fortunate to dance and connect with fellow dancers all over the world. Now, we’re bringing that global passion home — sharing the richness of tango with our students through inspired, heartfelt teaching.
Driven by a deep mutual love for this art form, we’ve trained with some of the most respected tango maestros in Argentina and beyond. In 2019, we celebrated our bond with a tango-themed wedding — an emotional tribute to the connection we’ve built both on and off the dance floor.
Over the years, we’ve had the honour of performing and competing internationally, earning multiple 1st Place Championship titles. With over 20 years of combined experience, we’re now dedicated to passing on our deep respect for traditional tango through immersive classes, meaningful performances, and by nurturing a vibrant, inclusive tango community.
Our passion for movement doesn’t stop at tango. We recently completed our Gyrotonic® foundation training in Venice, Italy, and are excited to offer Gyrotonic® classes alongside our dance offerings. This unique movement system plays a key role in our holistic teaching approach — helping students improve posture, grace, flexibility, and strength. We believe it’s a powerful tool for developing a deeper understanding of the body and enhancing the dance experience from the inside out.
Our mission is to share tango not just as a dance—but as a language of connection, healing, and transformation. That’s why our work goes far beyond the dance floor. Together, we aim to bring tango into a variety of spaces: aged care homes, mental and physical health programs, and schools —creating spaces where movement becomes a bridge to connection, confidence, and well-being.
Lastly and most importantly — we hope you’ll laugh with us, grow with us, and have a whole lot of fun along the way. While we take our craft seriously, we’re also playful (and sometimes a little silly!) in how we approach life and learning.
We hope to bring joy to every step you take with us and we’d love to welcome you into our tango world!
Warm hugs,
Pali & Marcelo
The heart behind the dance
Each of the Delgados’ journeys is unique—one rooted in chance, the other in rediscovery—but both are bound by a shared passion for movement, music, and human connection. Through Delgado Tango Academy, they now invite others to experience the transformation, joy, and meaning that tango has given them.

I never planned to become a tango dancer.
Born and raised in Thailand, about as far from tango culture as you could get, tango wasn’t part of my upbringing.
And yet, something about tango always felt strangely familiar to me.
Years later, my mother shared a story: while unknowingly pregnant with me, she traveled through Buenos Aires. She remembered hearing tango in the streets—haunting and beautiful. Maybe that moment imprinted itself on me. And maybe that’s why, when I first went to Buenos Aires in 2001 and heard tango with my own ears, it felt like a memory I hadn’t lived yet. A language I hadn’t learned but somehow understood. That moment began a journey that would transform my life. It’s shaped the way I live, love, and listen. Through life’s ups and downs I stepped away from tango for a long time, only to be called back again more than a decade later.
I was deeply shaped by my grandmother—a quiet force of nature who lived 105 years in service to others, with grace, generosity, and unwavering purpose. Her life was a living example of what it means to give back. For a long time, I hesitated to teach; I didn’t feel ready to lead.
But I’ve come to understand that teaching isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about showing up—with heart, with honesty, and something meaningful to share. I step into this role not out of obligation, but from devotion. And with her memory beside me, I offer what I can—with love, care, and the same spirit of service she lived by.
Sometimes I wonder if she had a hand in Marcelo and me finding each other. From different corners of the world, we somehow met and discovered not only a shared passion for tango, but a shared purpose: to use this dance to connect, uplift, and to give back to our students and the community.
Today, Marcelo and I continue that journey through our tango academy in Sydney. We offer immersive Argentine tango training, enriched by the Gyrotonic® method and supported by my work as a certified life and relationship coach.
We hope to bring fresh energy to the community, to welcome more people into this beautiful world, and to carry forward the spirit of those who came before us—the maestros, the dancers, the dreamers who kept tango alive. This dance is a legacy, and also a living thing. I’m honored to be part of its future.
Tango brought us together. It keeps teaching us.
Now we invite you to be part of that story.

I grew up immersed in the world of tango. In Buenos Aires, the music was always in the air; on the radio, at family gatherings, in the stories passed down through generations. I would watch my parents dance in the living room, their embrace so natural, so effortless. But as a child, I didn’t feel drawn to it. My parents encouraged me to learn, but it never caught my attention. It felt like something from another time, something that belonged to them, not me.
Then, we left Argentina and moved halfway across the world to Australia. Tango became a distant echo, a memory I barely held onto. Years later, everything changed in an instant. One day, I walked past a tango class. The music pulled me in. The way the dancers moved, so grounded, so full of emotion without uttering a single word. It wasn’t just beautiful; it was raw, it was honest. It resonated with something deep within me. That night, I signed up for my first tango class.
Soon after that, as if the universe was waiting, I met Pali. Not in a milonga, but in a salsa club in Sydney. At the time, she was already immersed in tango, while I was just starting my journey. But there was an undeniable connection between us: a shared passion for movement, music, and, most importantly, for true connection. It didn’t take long for us to start dancing, exploring, and learning together.
It felt like fate that my first real tango journey, to Buenos Aires, was with her. We weren’t experts. We were beginners, discovering everything side by side. From scratch, especially for me, but from the heart.
And in that, we found something profound. Since then, tango has become more than just a dance for me. It’s a practice, a philosophy, and a mirror. Tango has taught me how to listen, how to lead with gentleness, how to stay present and open, even in the stillest of moments. For much of my life, I’ve been involved in community service. My journey has always been guided by a quiet devotion to the care and well-being of others, both mentally and physically. When tango came into my life, I felt something deep within me, a calling. The music resonated with my soul, and I knew I could use it to help others. It felt like a natural extension of my work and purpose.
Now, through our academy, Pali and I share what we've learned with others, not just the technique of tango, but the emotion and connection at its core. We offer a space for growth, joy, discipline, and connection, because tango is all of these things and more.
I now feel that tango also belongs to me. I’m grateful to be part of this living tradition. And even more grateful to walk this path alongside my wife and partner, both in dance and in life.
